Program Highlight
- A certificate in Periodontics is awarded upon successful completion of the 35 month curriculum in the Advanced Training Program in Periodontics.
- Our Certificate program in Periodontics is offered only in combination with the Master of Science (M.S.) Degree in Oral Biology. The program is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association.
- In order to receive the certificate in periodontics, each candidate is required to complete and defend a M.S. thesis research project, which may be either a clinical research project or laboratory-based research project.
- External rotations include Children's Medical Center & Baylor Scott & White Hospital anesthesiology in operating room environment.
- Guest lecturers from private practice are frequently invited to speak on topics selected by current graduate students.
Application Process
Students entering their fourth year of a U.S.-accredited dental school are welcome to apply before graduating or taking Part 2 of National Boards. If accepted, the program must receive proof of graduation and National Board Examination Part 2 no later than 4 weeks prior to the start date of the program.
