Center of Excellence
In July 2012, Texas A&M College of Dentistry established a Center of Excellence through a $3.4 million grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Centers of Excellence program. This highly competitive grant initiative is designed to develop a skilled healthcare workforce, strengthen the dental school’s role as a national resource and educational hub, while reaffirming its commitment to improving access to dental care for all communities.
Bridge to Dentistry
The Bridge to Dentistry program, a key initiative of the college’s Center of Excellence, offers a broad range of academic enrichment activities and programs for students from pre-K through college. These efforts are designed to raise awareness of dental professions and enhance students' readiness and competitiveness for dental school admission.
The primary objective of Texas A&M University College of Dentistry’s Post-Baccalaureate Program (PBP) is to assist qualified students in gaining acceptance into the College of Dentistry after successful completion of the program.
The Future Dentist Club is for 6th through 12th graders to broaden their knowledge of dentistry as a career through presentations and guest speakers as well as hands-on dental projects and activities.
Project Dental Awareness is a program designed to increase students' awareness of dental health and dental careers in classes from Pre-K through 5th grade.
Tutoring and Retention Programs
These programs are designed to assist dental and dental hygiene students pursue available options for tutoring or academic advising.
