About Academic Affairs

The Office of Academic Affairs provides the College of Dentistry with academic support for faculty and students. This includes ongoing assessment, evaluation, and dissemination of feedback for the College of Dentistry, for:

  • Predoctoral dental education program, the dental hygiene program and the graduate programs
  • End-of-course, student, and climate evaluations
  • Academic due process for dental and dental hygiene students
  • Elective courses and schedules
  • Student externships and Leave of absence requests
  • The College’s participation in the national board dental examinations
  • International Studies Program
  • Outcomes assessment, planning and development

Graduate and Professional Programs

Graduate education programs at Texas A&M College of Dentistry provide an educational experience that emphasizes the development of a strong basic science background coupled with advanced diagnostic and clinical competence.

IDSS is dedicated to helping advance the school’s teaching mission by introducing and supporting appropriate instructional technologies and related instructional design services.

Institutional Effectiveness and Planning in the Office of Academic Affairs supports the College of Dentistry in continuous improvement by providing leadership, strategic planning, assessment of student learning and student progress across the curriculum and the clinical environment.
