Dr. Fabricio B. Teixeira is the Professor and Chair of the Department of Endodontics at Texas A&M University College of Dentistry. He was recruited from the University of Iowa after 11 years holding the Richard Walton Endowed Professorship and the Chair position of the Department of Endodontics. He also served as the Director of the Advanced Education Program for over four years and continues to be an adjunct faculty member. Dr. Teixeira earned his Certificate in Endodontics from the University of Texas at San Antonio and served as the Program Director at the same institution for many years. He was the inaugural recipient of the Endowment Carlos E. del Rio Distinguished Professorship in Endodontics at UT San Antonio. Prior to his move to Texas, he held the position of Tenured Associate Professor in the Department of Endodontics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he remains an adjunct faculty member. Dr. Teixeira’s academic journey began with his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in the Department of Endodontics at the State University of Campinas (Unicamp) in Brazil, where he also served as an Associate Professor.
Dr. Teixeira is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics (ABE) and continue to serve as past director of the ABE. He has held various positions within the American Association of Endodontists, including as annual meetings track organizer and committee member in numerous areas. He is the Secretary of the International Association of Dental Traumatology and a member of its Board of Directors. Additionally, he serves as the CODA Commissioner in Endodontics for the country and currently is the Chair of the ADA Endodontic Review Committee. Dr. Teixeira is a member of the OKU National Dental Honor Society, a Fellow of the American College of Dentists, and a Fellow of the International College of Dentists. Over nine years, he served as Associate Editor of Endodontic Topics and is a member of the Editorial Boards of Evidence-based Endodontics and Visual Endodontics. He also serves on the Scientific Advisory Board of the Journal of Endodontics and as a consultant for several other peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Teixeira actively participates in clinical research and has lectured nationally and internationally on various topics in his specialty. His publications include over a hundred peer-reviewed articles and textbook chapters in essential textbooks such as “Pathways of the Pulp” and “Endodontics: Principles and Practice.
